Customer opinions are divided between the two mattress types. Understandably, both organic mattresses and memory beds have pros and cons to consider before settling for one or the other. We've compiled the most notable pros and cons in an easy-to-read table.
But first, here's what you must know about home mattress trials and what makes a good foam mattress.
A high quality slow-recovery Tempur-Pedic bed can cost up to $3,000, and the cheapest memory foam mattress is around $800.
The cost of an organic mattress is between $800 and 3,500, the latex-wool combination being the most expensive and the spring-cotton the cheapest.
Organic mattresses become more popular each day, with more and more people becoming increasingly concerned with leading a healthier lifestyle. But the truth is these mattresses have issues of their own, like lack of back support and pressure relief both of which may significantly damage the quality of your sleep.
Viscoelastic mattresses, on the other hands are popular thanks to their undisputable qualities: body contouring, comfort, total back support and spinal alignment and heat responsiveness.
Bottom line, even though they do not offer the sleep comfort that a more sophisticated memory foam mattress does and are quite expensive, these organic mattresses give you the peace of mind that, in the long term, your bed is not harmful to you or your baby's health.

I am so disappointed in my new organic mattress! It stinks so much it gave me a headache!

Cotton is notorious for packing down. That is why the innerspring mattress was invented! Cotton is never used for more that a thin layer in good bedding or furniture. Believe me, your camping mattresses are far superior to a cotton one, at least after a couple of months of use.

We bought ours on-line without a Dr's note. I am pretty sure that the mattress is a mix of organic cotton and wool. I know the outside of the mattress is definitely cotton. And then we got a wool cover to put on it (under the fitted sheet). We are so glad today that we haven't exposed our son to that awful dangerous flame retardant coating! Only organic for us!

I have had my Tempur-Pedic EuroBed going on 11 months now and I can honestly say that I'm just as happy with this mattress now as I was the first night. Unlike conventional mattresses that I have owned, there is absolutely no sagging or any type of distortion with this mattress after nearly a year of use.
